Le MARCHE Gare BEACONSFIELD Farmer's Market is a producers' cooperative whose mission is to showcase local business owners, musicians, artists and artisans that support local farmers, urban growers and local bakers.
Volunteers aim to promote locally grown and organic foods by farmers and urban growers of Greater Montreal urban-agricultural and farming sites by reducing the environmental impact of food purchases by consumers. This vision builds on the expertise of regional farmers and urban growers by promoting local and regional economic development, tourism and a friendly, hello neighbour, community spirit while creating a direct link between consumers, farmers and urban growers of home-grown agricultural and food products as well promoting locally baked goods while showcasing artists and artisans and their local creative talents and products for sale.
As modes of agricultural production, distribution and consumption have a direct influence on our regional environment and health, by favoring farmer's and regional urban-growers of locally grown and organic food products such as fruits, vegetables, edible flowers and herbs, we seek to protect the environment by promoting and purchasing regional agricultural products from urban growers.
Objectives
1. To support farmers and urban growers of fruits, vegetables, edible flowers and herbs that grow local, organic foods that favor
environmentally friendly, green energy production, harvesting and marketing of agriculture and related food products.
2. To offer a permanent public market for the showcase of guest speakers and chefs talking about their choice of easy to make local recipes that best represent the locally grown foods of multi-cultural groups, nutrition and diet and the marketing and sale of regional food products grown, harvested and sold without intermediaries representing urban growers and farmers.
3. To stimulate, support and develop the supply and demand for locally grown and organic urban-agricultural foods and related
food products.
4.To create campaigns that support the development of green energy to support a regional urban-agricultural green economy.
5. To identify and facilitate the networking between regional farmers, urban growers and consumers of green energy, locally grown and harvested for the marketing, distribution and sale of les "Aliments du Quebec" agricultural and related food products.
6. To improve the distribution, marketing and sales network of farmers and urban growers
7. To promote farmer's and urban growers that support campaigns for community gardens in safer and more beautiful
neighbourhoods and that grow local and organic agriculture and related food products with green energy solutions to protect the environment.
8. To create and establish an enhanced distribution, communication and social network between public transit users, neighbourhoods, community groups, consumers, regional urban growers and farmers that grow food products with environmentally friendly, green powered energy sources.
